HAPPY HOLIBAY

E-BAY INSPIRATION
Inspiration comes in several forms

A search on "vintage" yielded just short of 774,000 results. None of the above made my watch list, but served to remind me that I have a sports fan, music lover, and antique collector to shop for.

Here is your challenge, should you choose to accept it... Have an E-Bay Holiday. It won't be easy. There are tens of millions of items on E-Bay at any given moment. AND... the vast majority of the listings are not worth bidding on – so you will spend hours with mouse in hand as you scour the pages looking for the perfect gifts.

IF you do choose the challenge... You will most likely enjoy

  • some price savings
  • the pride of giving a one-of-a-kind gift
  • saving gas money by not driving your car
  • the emotional high of "winning" your prize

Bocce Set For My Retired Father

Searched on: "Italy Bocce." My retired father says there are bocce courts on every corner in their Florida neighborhood.

E-Bay is a clearing house for millions of products. They “carry” far more products than you will ever find at any store. Even if you just use it for “window shopping” it can be a great place to get some ideas for gifts.

Not sure what to buy someone? Try typing in a subject or an adjective and see what comes up. 774,000 results were returned on the word “vintage.” The first page had among other things a “Philadelphia Phillies Vintage T-Shirt”, a “Vintage Microphone” and a “Vintage Kentucky Jim Beam Souvenir Spoon.” None of these items worked for my list. However, they did remind that I am shopping for a sports fan, a music lover, and for my mother (that’s the spoon part not the booze part).

Buyer Beware! Clothes, shoes, jewelery, designer items... might best be left to traditional shopping methods. You are not going to get Nordstrom service or guarantees buying on E-Bay. Because returns are near non-existent and sellers descriptions can be generous, ill-fitting items or mis-labeled knock-offs can quickly turn from treasure to junk. Buy these items from local trusted retailers.

Armed with just my lap top and my pay-pal account, I have either won, bid, or am watching several items. Check out my E-Bay Gift Guide for gift ideas and a glimpse into a few items for sale on E-Bay. I have organized my items by giftee (sports fans to music lover to chef of the house) with pictures for your viewing. New to E-Bay? Check out my quick tips list. Oh... and don't even try to bid on the dachshund bottle opener, it's mine.
