PORTLAND DISTILLERY TOUR: TIPS, CHART, LINKS

HOUSE SPIRITS APOTHECARY LINE
House Spirits Apothecary Line

House Spirits Apothecary Line gives them the ability to experiment and us the ability to savor

  • Have a designated driver, take a tour, go by bike, or get a cab. 2 generous ounces per distillery adds up quickly. Two of us researched this article. One was drinking and one was driving. The drinker followed this tour up with a two-hour nap. Jupiter Hotel offers a distillery tour package – note: it does not include Clear Creek.
  • Pack a snack. The area around Distillery Row has limited restaurants. If you find yourself wanting a nosh, you might end up going hungry.
  • Consider reversing the order of this tour. Hit distillery row first and then head over to Clear Creek. You will end your tour near NW 23rd which is restaurant-tastic.
  • Little Sips. Just because they pour it doesn’t mean you have to drink it. When the day was done, 28 samples were offered. Yes, 28.
  • Visit websites before you go. The websites were all very reflective of the distilleries. Go to the distilleries you think you will like and skip the others. The sites will also have up-to-date information about tasting room hours, tours, products in stock, etc.
  • End your day at one of Portland’s cocktail-bar-centered restaurants: Beaker and Flask, Teardrop Lounge, or ask your distiller for a recommendation. Don’t forget to order food.
